Purpose of the job
Our client is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic HR Co-ordinator, to provide support in the strategic and operational management of our HR team.
The role is responsible for providing high quality, objective and robust assistance to ensure the business develops and retains great people.
Our client is a leading company in the food packing sector. Its’ main site is in Spalding and operates for 24 hours a day, 364 days per year. There are also 2 smaller satellite operations in the local area. The total headcount is circa 195 personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Play a key role in the recruitment process, including supporting Line Managers with candidate sourcing, interviews, pre-employment checks, issuing offer letters and contracts, and ensuring that personnel files contain the appropriate signed documentation. To ensure legal compliance is met and best practice followed, including Right to Work checks.
- Ensure an effective induction for all new starters.
- Manage the leaver process for resignations. Conduct exit interviews and maintain record of responses, feeding back to managers where appropriate.
- Act as an advisor through the development of effective relationships with managers.
- Partner with managers to efficiently handle employee relation issues in a pragmatic and efficient manner including organizational restructures, employee relations, terminations, grievances, misconduct, code of conduct issues and disciplinary action.
- Monitor and record absence for all staff in the department and manage any queries arising from this (absences include sick, long term sick, maternity/paternity, parental, unpaid or other leave)
- Participate in the absence management process.
- Conduct internal investigations.
- Assist with the organization and planning of L&D initiatives, courses, and communications;
- Support for both internal and external audits with information relating to the People Function and payroll.
- Participate in the formation of the Workers Committee.
- Implementing initiatives to improve the employee experience and wellness.
- Liaison with labour providers and contractors as required.
- Other projects or activities as may be required to fulfil the needs of the business but in line with the skills and experience of the job-holder.
Skills and experience required:
- Level 3 CIPD or equivalent
- 3+ years experience in a generalist HR role
- Good understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
- Experience gained within FMCG/food production produce/manufacturing envrionment
- Knowledge of payroll processes
Working Hours:
40 hours a week
Pay Details:
Salary: £30k – £33k (DOE)
