Meadowgate School in Wisbech opened in 1947 as a small special school for children with a wide range of difficulties.

Meadowgate has pupils aged from 2 to 19 years with learning difficulties ranging from moderate to severe and profound.

The school aims to ensure that every child and young person has the opportunity to learn and take part in a wide variety of experiences in and out of the school.

The school is very successful in what it does and is oversubscribed. They have gone from 120 to 160 pupils and are still having to turn children away.

With a limited budget, the school relies on the support and generosity of the local community. Extra funds will provide much-needed specialist equipment, helping the children to develop as well as grow in confidence and independence.
