Purpose of the job
We are looking for a skilled Welder / Fitter to join a busy manufacturing team within the transport industry, working on the installation of vehicle sheeting systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is a dual-role position (50% welding / 50% fitting) within a fast-paced production environment.
You will be responsible for:
Welding Duties (MIG & TIG)
- Welding steel and aluminium components
- Reading engineering drawings
- Using grinders, drills, and fabrication tools
Fitting / Installation Duties
- Installing vehicle sheeting systems to the manufacturer’s specifications
- Moving vehicles into and out of work bays
- Assisting with lifting and fitting sheet systems
- Completing labour scanning on/off jobs
- Liaising with supervisors for inspections and corrections
Skills and experience required:
What We’re Looking For:
- MIG & TIG welding experience
- Mechanical/fitting experience or strong practical skills
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious attitude
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures
Working Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
Friday: 7:00am – 2:45pm
Pay Details:
Pay: £14.60 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
