Purpose of the job
Our Client, a School Academy based in Norwich, is looking for a Permanent Maintenance Person with an ASAP start.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of maintenance and site management tasks to ensure all the facilities are well-maintained.
Duties and Responsibilities
Daily Maintenance: Coordinate and implement routine inspections and repairs of the School buildings, equipment, and external environment, including annual, monthly, weekly, and daily inspections.
Improvement and Strategy: Identify areas for improvement and contribute to the maintenance strategy.
Maintenance Schedule: Execute tasks to meet the maintenance schedule and satisfy all needs.
Event Support: Plan and manage all requests for work and preparations for school events such as assemblies, meetings, workshops, and INSET. Respond in a timely and efficient manner to all helpdesk requests via the Parago asset management system. Updating the system for all fixed asset additions.
Building Projects: Manage, supervise, and monitor any facility or building contractors undertaking work on the school’s premises. Ensure that any issues with contractors are promptly followed up.
Health and Safety: Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are followed within your department.
Housekeeping Assistance: To organise cleaning materials and equipment orders and ensure their correct maintenance and storage.
Routine Tasks: Perform any other routine tasks as required by senior staff.
Skills and experience required:
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Experience in cleaning, caretaking, and maintenance activities
- Previous experience in a building, maintenance, or groundworks role
- Some DIY experience
- Experience of working in a team and working with contractors

- Desirable: Level 1 Safeguarding / Awareness of keeping children safe

Working Hours:
Shift: Monday – Friday, 35 hours / week.
